Maharashtra Chitpavan Sangh
महाराष्ट्र चित्पावन संघ
Pune-based Chitpavan community body, started in 1933 as the Chittapavan League and renamed in 1936. Runs scholarships, medical and emergency aid, the Shubhamangal marriage bureau, the Udyojak Manch business network, the monthly bulletin Amitrajit and a free annual panchang sent to about 10,000 families.
Help offered
Need-based education scholarships, including for study abroad. Medical aid for financially weak Chitpavans hospitalised with a major illness (Health Assistance form). Emergency help for needy families. Shubhamangal vadhu-var suchak portal (shubhamangal.co.in; now open to all Brahmins). Udyojak Manch for entrepreneurs (mcsum.com; meets Tuesdays 7:45 am at the Sangh; email mcsudyojakmanch@gmail.com).
How to apply
Scholarship forms: 15 June to 15 August, at the Sangh office or online at chitpavan.in/forms; awards decided after 15 August. Medical aid: Health Assistance form at chitpavan.in/health_form.php. Amounts and documents needed are not published.
